32 Miles of Fierce Competition

IT IS TIME to eliminate despair and fight hunger in a battle of sweat, precision, and physical and mantal endurance. Our competitors are ready to push themselves to the limit for 32 grueling miles. The triathletes are: Emily "Hands in the Air” Monke versus Krista “Joan of” Arft!!!! Emily stands 5’8” tall, and weighs 150 lbs. She’s an intimidating persona with a dynamic athletic background and an unwavering reliance on “The Big Man”. Her recent focus on running has given her the mental acuity and endurance that she believes will help her have the strong last leg needed to fly through the finish chute ahead of her competitor. With several sprint distance triathlons under her belt as well as a half marathon, Emily has decided to take it to the next level. She is so confident in her disciplines that she is challenging the fierce and strong willed… Krista “Joan of” Arft!! Standing at 5’7” tall with a weight of 126 lbs. She’s a warrior with a will that kicks in if the fuel runs out. Equally disciplined in swimming, biking and running, she believes a strong and steady performance will carry her to the victory. After having son, Caleb, in October, her training sessions are fewer but longer and more intense, so only 9 months later she is up for the challenge. Her previous experience has been on some of the more demanding sprint distance courses so she is not intimidated by the double mileage of the Olympic distance race.
